IT Support & Systems Technician

The IT Support & Systems Technician provides hands-on, day-to-day IT support across our Leek blended powder manufacturing facility, covering both office and operational environments. You'll be the local first point of contact for IT issues, resolving what you can and escalating what you can't to central IT, specialist providers, or the Business Systems & ICT Engagement Manager, to whom you'll report.
This is a key role supporting the continuity of production, warehouse, planning, inventory, quality and administrative activities.
Key Interfaces: IT, Business Systems, Operations, Production, Engineering, Quality, Planning, Inventory, Stock Control, Finance and HR.
Key Responsibilities
First-line & Operational IT Support
Provide first-line support to office and operational users, including production, warehouse, quality, planning and inventory teams.
Troubleshoot hardware, software and connectivity issues, resolving at first point of contact where possible.
Log and track all support activity in the IT service-management system.
Hardware, Software & Equipment
Set up, configure and maintain laptops, desktops, tablets, printers, scanners and other approved equipment.
Maintain accurate equipment and asset records, including issue, return and disposal.
Microsoft 365, Accounts & Access
Support users with M365 applications (Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint), password and MFA issues.
Manage the IT elements of joiners, movers and leavers, including equipment setup and access changes.
Network, Security & Business Systems
Troubleshoot basic wired/wireless connectivity issues and escalate infrastructure problems.
Follow IT security policies, support endpoint security, and report suspected security incidents immediately.
Provide first-line support for ERP, Dynamics and other business systems, escalating functional issues to the Business Systems team.
Continuity & Change
Support IT contingency arrangements and respond promptly to issues affecting production.
Assist with rollout of new IT equipment, systems and projects.
