QA Systems Technologist

We're looking for a Quality Assurance Systems Technologist to join our Technical team on a 12-month maternity cover contract at our blended powder manufacturing site in Leek.
In this role, you'll be responsible for the administration, maintenance, and continuous improvement of our Quality Management System (QMS), finished product specifications, customer technical documentation, and complaint management.
You'll ensure that all product information, customer specifications, technical documentation, and quality records are accurate, current, and compliant with legal requirements, customer standards, BRCGS requirements, and internal procedures.
As a key link between Technical, Operations, Procurement, Customer Services, Sales, and NPD, you'll help maintain product integrity and customer confidence, while also supporting the site's environmental sustainability objectives.
Key areas of responsibility:
Finished product specifications and customer technical documentation
Customer complaint and supplier non-conformance management
Quality Management System maintenance and document control
Product standards and change control
Supporting internal, BRCGS, customer, and third-party audits and traceability exercises
Quality KPI tracking and reporting
Responding to customer and internal technical queries within agreed timescales
Maintaining accurate document registers, version control, and retention schedules
Supporting investigations into quality issues and technical non-conformances
Contributing to continuous improvement of quality systems and processes

We're looking for someone with:
Experience in a Quality Assurance or Technical role within food manufacturing
Good understanding of Quality Management Systems
Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills
Good computer literacy, including Microsoft Office
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work across departments
Desirable:
Level 2 HACCP / Level 2 Food Safety
Internal Auditor qualification
Experience with finished product specifications or specification management systems
Knowledge of BRCGS Food Safety Standard and retailer standards
Experience in dry blending, powder manufacturing, or food ingredients
